Man found not guilty by mental disease or defect of financial fraud

A Boyceville man has been found not guilty by mental disease or defect of a charge of fraud against a financial institution in 2014.

39-year old Ryan Hobbick has been committed to the state Department of Health Services for no more than 6 years. He must also take all his medications. His sentence will run concurrently to a 6 year and 6 month prison term he is serving for fraudulently using a credit card. That credit card was stolen from Jenson Siding and Construction in Lake Hallie in November 2014, and more than $10,000 was put on it.

According to the criminal complaint, Hobbick cashed checks from A-Z Auto and Truck Services that were signed by an owner who is dead.
